Uh, yeah, it will. It’s a David Byrne/Brian Eno album for goodness sake. Anyone who got engrossed in the hypnotic 1981 Byrne/Eno project My Life In The Bush of Ghosts will want to check out Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.

“In a nutshell, Brian wrote most of the music, and I composed most of the vocal melodies and lyrics, and then sang them,” Byrne wrote. “Other musicians play on the album too. It’s not Bush of Ghosts II: this is a record of sung songs, and the result really surprises me. Despite a sinister inflection to both the lyrics and the music, many songs feel fairly uplifting and the overall tone is hopeful. From where does this quality derive?”

Conveniently, fans will be able to answer that question on their own. Byrne is going to take the new music (and some not-as-new music) on a lengthy tour this fall. The show will feature songs from the two Byrne/Eno albums, plus music from the three Talking Heads albums (More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, and Remain In Light) produced by Eno.

Tour dates start September 16 in Pennsylvania and run through November 8. The curious can clcik here to see Byrne’s tour announcement video and download an MP3 of the new song, “Strange Overtones”.
