$2M Pain Of A Lawsuit

Mary J. Blige was hit with a $2 million lawsuit August 5 by a company that says the singer stole the song "Work That," which is featured on her late 2007 Growing Pains album.

The lawsuit claims "Work That" was created by a producer who worked for the Drama Family Entertainment company at the time. The company says it never gave the singer, producer Theron Feemster, or distributor Geffen Records the rights to use the song, the New York Daily News reported.

Rights to the lyrics of the song are not in question.

The song was also featured in an iPod commercial. Apple Inc. wasn’t named in the lawsuit.
