No Fair Weather For Vanessa

“High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens was forced to leave the grandstand of America’s Fair in Hamburg, N.Y., August 9 after lightning lit up the sky, bringing a quick end to the venue’s debut.

Hudgens retreated to her tour bus to wait out the storm but fair organizers decided the weather was too dangerous to go on and canceled the concert at 9:30 p.m., according to the Buffalo News. Hudgens’ set followed Rooney.

The paper noted that organizers also shut down the Midway area at that time.

Because of Hudgen’s busy schedule and other contracts, the concert will not be rescheduled. A representative with America’s Fair confirmed to Pollstar that ticket holders can receive a refund or exchange their tickets for another show with available seating.

Earlier that week another grandstand event, the Mid Season Truck and Tractor Pull Championships, was canceled August 7 because of lightning.
