StubHub’s Geography Lesson

StubHub recently revealed “America’s 20 Most Rockin’ Cities of 2008” in a press release.

The one that made the biggest leap? Richmond, Va., which showed a secondary ticket sale jump from No. 17 to No. 9.

“The live concert ticket market in the area was bolstered by performances from Jimmy Buffett, Radiohead, Bruce Springsteen, Jonas Brothers and Dave Matthews Band – the majority of which took place at Nissan Pavilion,” StubHub said.

“Many fans from surrounding areas traveled to Richmond to see these bands since they did not schedule performances in Washington D.C.”

Unfortunately for StubHub’s geographers, Nissan isn’t in the Richmond market, which is 100 miles from D.C.; it’s in Bristow, which is 15 miles from the capitol steps.
