Hoge, who was riding a motor scooter in East Nashville, reportedly collided with a van which failed to yield. Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

A representative of the hospital said while the musician’s condition is critical at the moment, he is expected to make a full recovery.

Hoge is currently working on a follow up to his 2007 album Draw the Curtains.
