Hate Crime After Kid Rock Show

A couple was charged with a hate crime, assault and theft after a fight broke out following the August 20 Kid Rock concert at Constellation Brands – Marvin Sands PAC (CMAC) in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say Ann Ingalls, 41, and Stephen Potter, 30, made racially charged insults to a woman and her family after the concert, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

A fight then broke out between the family and Ingalls and Potter, during which the woman’s purse was stolen.

Following the fight, an Ontario County sheriff’s sergeant was taken to a hospital and treated for cuts and bruises. According to the police report, Potter is accused of hitting the sergeant in the face.

Ingalls was charged with grand larceny as a hate crime and released after being arraigned in East Bloomfield Town Court.

Potter was charged with second-degree assault. After being arraigned, he was taken to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.
