Weber is offering free theatre tickets to bankers who have lost their jobs because of the current financial crisis.

Between now and October 15, bank employees who visit the box offices of the London Palladium and the Adelphi Theatre in London and produce a P45 (the British equivalent of a pink slip) will be able to claim two tickets for “The Sound of Music” or “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.

“Both ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Joseph’ are feel good shows and I thought that free tickets might offer some respite, albeit for a couple of hours, for some of those people who have sadly lost their jobs in the current economic upheaval,” Sir Andrew explained in a statement.

Tickets are available for Monday through Thursday performances only and subject to availability.

There was no word at press time on whether Weber has plans to mitigate the suffering of employees of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers or A.I.G.
