The band kicks things off tonight at Barack Obama-rama, a fundraising event and voter registration drive for the Democratic Party and Sen. Obama. Other acts scheduled to appear include The Lady Tigra, Willoughby, Electrocute, Hard Place, Polyamorous Affair and Wolfkin.

Other upcoming stops on the group’s itinerary include Great Scott in Boston (September 28), Spiegeltent in New York City (September 30), World Café Live in Philadelphia (October 1) and Ram’s Head on Stage in Annapolis, Md. (October 4).

Ray Guns, the follow up to The Bird and the Bee’s self-titled 2007 debut is due out January 27.
