No Criminal Conduct In Levert Death

The March death of R&B singer Sean Levert was not the result of criminal conduct, Cuyahoga County prosecutors have determined.

Levert, son of lead O’Jays singer Eddie Levert, died March 30 after he was taken to a hospital from an Ohio jail, where he was serving time for failure to pay child support.

The county coroner previously ruled the 39-year-old Levert died from complications from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease.

He also suffered from heart disease, high blood sugar and withdrawal from Xanax.

His widow, Angela Lowe, filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit in June accusing county jail officials of neglecting his medical needs.
