Arena Project Earns Distinction

Missouri State University’s new JQH Arena in Springfield has a distinction that sets it apart from similar projects: The venue is expected to be completed on time and $1 million under budget.

MSU President Mike Nietzel told the city’s News-Leader the extra cash can go toward additional furniture, equipment and landscaping as well as preliminary design work for home locker rooms and offices for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The $67 million facility features more than 11,000 seats, 24 private suites, a Hall of Fame and team souvenir shop.
Among the arena’s inaugural events is a Nov. 13 Eagles concert.
