The band kicks off the next round of dates, which includes a headlining shows as well as gigs with Matisyahu and Blue Scholars, October 15 at Power & Light District in Kansas City, Mo.

Other stops on the itinerary include People’s in Des Moines, Iowa (October 17), Riviera Theatre in Chicago (October 19), Murat Egyptian Room in Indianapolis (October 22), Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, R.I. (October 28), Webster Hall in New York City (November 3), The Loft at Center Stage in Atlanta (November 11), Club Nokia L.A. Live in Los Angeles (November 18) and Warfield Theatre in San Francisco (November 23).

The group will ring in the New Year with a trio of shows December 29-31 at the Gothic Theatre in Denver suburb Englewood, Colo.

Flobots was formed as “a cohesive alternative organism” in 2005.

The band’s rousing live show, complete with classically trained viola player Mackenzie Roberts, is as much about the passion for activism that prompted the creation of Flobots.org, a non-profit web site that connects fans to social change organizations, as it is about the rollicking rock-rap attracting legions of followers.

Tools, released in late May, has garnered critical acclaim and has made a steady progression up the charts.
