‘Downunder’ Writers Sued

The writers of Men At Work’s 1981 Aussie anthem “Downunder” were sued by publisher Larrikin Music.

Larrikin says parts of the song, penned by Colin Hay and Ron Strykert, are similar to the iconic Australian song “Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gum Tree.”

The song in question was written in 1934 by a teacher for her students to sing on a school outing.
