Cunningham Goes ‘Dirty Dancing’
Ross Cunningham was named COO of Time of My Life Pty. Ltd., parent company of the “Dirty Dancing” production.
The Australian business veteran’s 30 years experience in venue management include stints as GM of Entertainment – Casinos at Tabcorp and time with Arena Management, which operates the Sydney Entertainment Centre and Capitol Theatre.
Cunningham is also a board member of peak entertainment industry association Live Performance Australia and chairman of its Helpmann Awards.
Time Of My Life’s Michael Jacobsen told Pollstar “Dirty Dancing” grossed US$400 million to date.
He expects an ultimate turnover of $2 billion.
The show began in Chicago Oct. 19 before moving on to Los Angeles and Boston. It opened in Utrecht, The Netherlands, this month and will hit Berlin, Spain and Portugual next year.
It has a regional U.K. run through 2010.
