TicketsNow Cuts Staff

In step with the recent announcement of 300 job cuts at Ticketmaster, company subsidiary TicketsNow has announced layoffs and reassignments at its former headquarters in Crystal Lake, Ill.

More than 60 call center positions will be cut and an additional 26 people will assume different roles at TicketsNow, a spokeswoman told the local Northwest Herald.

“Ticketmaster has a competency in call center operations,” she said. “They have call centers all over the world and more capabilities than we have.”

The TicketsNow office, which houses the company’s EventInventory software team, tech support, sales and accounting staffs, is not set to close, the paper said.

Instead, the two companies are being streamlined, in tune with Ticketmaster’s overall plan to reduce operating expenses by nearly $35 million, as announced in August.

TM acquired TicketsNow in January as the company moved to bolster its presence in the secondary market.
