Dates, Dates & More Dates …
Big news sometimes comes in small packages, or in our case small venues as singer / songwriter Elliott Murphy slots a rare U.S. tour for December and January. New York City-born Murphy, who has lived in Paris since the mid-1980s, plays Europe quite often, but seldom plays his home country. Touring clubs, dates include December 10 in Somerville, Massachusetts, at Johnny D’s Restaurant & Music Club, December 16 in DC at Velvet Lounge, December 18 in Larchmont, New York, at Watercolor Café, January 7 in San Francisco, at Cafe Du Nord and January 14 in Long Beach at Blue Café. One more thought… Bruce Springsteen has often invited Murphy onstage whenever The Boss plays Paris. Maybe it’s time for Murph to return the favor.
Delbert McClinton updates with a couple of new 2009 listings. New to the calendar is January 10 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama (venue TBA) and February 13 in New Braunfels, Texas, at Gruene Hall.
It’s time to yell out for “Freebird!” Lynyrd Skynyrd meets the final update deadline today with November 28 & 29 in Atlantic City at Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa, January 3 in Uncasville, Connecticut, at Mohegan Sun Arena and January 8 – 10 on a Carnival Cruise based out of Miami.
And we have a few new ones for Big Head Todd & The Monsters – January 2 & 3 in Aspen at the Belly Up, and March 5 in Dallas at House Of Blues.
During the day we also updated the schedules for Third Day, Johnny Mathis, Tom Morello: The Nightwatchman, “Dancing On Ice”, Mike Relm, Ali Campbell, Billy Currington, Pink, Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Darius Rucker, Gretchen Wilson, Funeral For A Friend, The Sleeping, Cowboy Troy, Clint Black plus thousands upon thousands of artists and bands that we’d love to mention if only we had the space. So just use your imagination. After all, it’s what keeps us going.
That’s a wrap for today. As always, thank you for your support, for we would feel really strange posting all these concert dates during the past 14 years if you and your concert-loving buddies didn’t bother reading them. Of course, we’ll have more fresh concert data to fill up your brain tomorrow. See ya!
