Don’t Blowoff The Show
After kicking off more than five years ago as a live and DJ musical collaboration at Washington, D.C.’s Velvet Lounge, this year’s edition of Bob Mould and electronic producer/artist Richard Morel’s Blowoff is taking place from coast to coast.
Mould, of Hüsker Dü and Sugar fame, and Morel combine a signature mix of indie rock, electro and house music from Chromeo to Matthew Dear to Annie to Amanda Lepore. There’s also eye-popping vignettes projected through the club and signature flyer artwork.
Upcoming Blowoff dates include Southpaw in Brooklyn, N.Y. ( Nov. 15), 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. ( Nov. 22), Slim’s in San Francisco (Nov. 29), HighLine Ballroom in New York (Dec. 12) and 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (Dec. 20).
Morel has remixed songs for artists including Tina Turner, New Order, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Mariah Carey, The Killers and The Pretenders.
His third autobiographical, self-produced studio project, The Death of the Paperboy, is in stores now.
