Dr. Midge?
Former Ultravox vocalist and Band Aid co-founder Midge Ure appears to have started a third career: Collecting honorary degrees.
Ure, 55, will pick up his latest sheepskin for musical and humanitarian achievements from Glasgow Caledonian University.
The Scottish singer already has awards from Edinburgh, Abertay and Paisley universities, and was named an officer of the Order Of The British Empire (OBE) in 2005 for services to music and charity.
In other Ultravox news, various sources have reported that the band’s 1980s lineup will reunite for a 2009 tour.
The trek marks the first time this incarnation of the group has performed together since Live Aid in 1985.
Drummer Warren Cann, bassist Chris Cross, violinist/keyboardist Billy Currie and guitarist/vocalist Ure will reportedly play 14 dates beginning April 10 in Edinburgh.
