Witnesses said a spectator threw something at Akon druing the show at Dutchess Stadium in upstate New York last June. He asked the crowd to point out the guilty party and a security guard brought a 15-year-old boy to the stage. Akon then tossed the kid into the crowd, while the cell phone cameras rolled.

After the plea, Akon shook hands with the now 16-year-old Anthony Smith and apologized to him and his parents.

The singer will serve no jail time as long as he performs 65 hours of community service and pays a $250 fine.
