Nashville Police Department spokeswoman Kris Mumford told the New York Daily News that the singer was treated for wounds to her wrists.

“We responded to a ‘10-63,’ that’s a suicidal person call. Mindy McCready was at the house,” Mumford told the paper. “Apparently she called the mother of her roommate and said some things that caused the mother concern. She called authorities.”

McCready’s messy personal life was further scrutinized after the Daily News reported a long-term affair between the country singer and baseball all-star Roger Clemens. McCready confirmed the relationship, which began in 1991 when she was 15 years old and Clemens was a married father of two.

She entered a Texas rehab facility in July, where she was treated for a nervous breakdown but was looking forward to resurrecting her singing career, the paper said.

McCready attempted suicide in 2005 by taking a large amount of two unidentified substances and downing alcohol while staying at a Florida hotel.

The 33-year-old singer completed a 60-day jail sentence Oct. 31 for violating her probation on a 2004 drug charge.
