Hip-Hop To The Rescue
Pennsylvania hip-hop artist Asher Roth and his band sprang into action Jan. 7 when a man aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles allegedly said he had a bomb.
The man, who has not been identified, reportedly lunged for a door on the jetliner after it landed in Los Angeles.
Roth and his band, who were traveling to L.A. to tape a performance on “Last Call with Carson Daly,” tackled the suspect and helped restrain him with plastic devices until he could be handed over to authorities.
Passengers, including Asher Roth and his band, subdue a man who allegedly made a bomb threat on Delta Air Lines flight 110 from Atlanta to Los Angeles in a photo taken by bass player Chris Llewlyn.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the plane and the man’s bags were searched but no bomb was found. Eimiller also said the suspect “tried to assault a flight attendant” at some point.
The motive for the alleged threat was not clear. The man has not been arrested, but was being questioned by the FBI and LAX police.
Roth, who has been compared to Eminem, is due to release his still-untitled debut album in March.
