Grammy Campaign Hails Musical Influences

In the leadup to the 51st Grammy Awards, which airs Feb. 8, the Recording Academy and Los Angeles ad agency TBWA\Chiat\Day have signed on a handful of Grammy artists for a campaign to “Celebrate The Music That Makes Us.”

Coldplay, Lenny Kravitz, Lil’ Wayne, Rihanna, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke will be featured in TV, outdoor, print and interactive advertisements that highlight songs that have inspired the artists’ careers and lives.

“We all have a song that inspires us, drives us or makes us feel better – music that makes you the person you are,” TBWA\Chiat\Day creative director Rob Schwartz said. “This campaign celebrates the influence that music has on every one of us and asks the question: Do we make great music or does great music make us?”
