Along the road the band will be sure to show off tunes from its eighth studio album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, which was released Jan. 6.

The psych folk/noise rock band will perform at the Grand Ballroom in New York, Jan. 20 and wind things down with a performance at All Tomorrow’s Parties festival at the Kutshers Country Club & Resort in Monticello, N.Y., Sept. 12.

Before heading to Europe, Animal Collective will play four more U.S. dates with stops at Bowery Ballroom in New York (Jan. 21), Metro/Smart Bar in Chicago (Jan. 22), Music Box @ Fonda in Los Angeles (Jan. 23) and Troubadour in Los Angeles (Jan. 24).

In March the band heads to Europe with stops including shows at Merjeriet in Lund, Sweden (March 5), Karlstorbahnhof in Heidelberg, Germany (March 9), Konzerthaus Schuur in Lucerne, Switzerland (March 11), Rolling Stone in Milan, Italy (March 14) and Aeronef in Lille, France (March 19).

Then it’s off to the U.K. with shows including performances at The Forum in London (March 24), Woodhouse Club in Leeds (March 25), Static in Liverpool (March 26) Tripod in Dublin (March 27) and Stiff Kitten in Belfast (March 28).

In North America dates include 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (May 11), House of Blues in Boston (May 14), Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee (May 19), First Avenue in Minneapolis (May 20) and Roseland Theater in Portland, Ore. (May 25).

There’s also shows at Fox Theater in Oakland, Calif. (May 26), The Wiltern in Los Angeles (May 29), Rialto Theatre in Tucson (May 31), House of Blues in Dallas (June 4) and The State Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Fla. (June 8).
