A representative for Rod Stewart recently told Rolling Stone that Stewart and fellow former Face Ron Wood have indeed not written an album’s worth of music for a reunion tour.

“There’s no plans for a Faces reunion tour this year,” the representative told Rolling Stone. Wood is working on a solo project but “Rod did not do any recording with him for that album.”

Somehow, Red Hot Chili Peppers’  Flea also got his name tangled up in the rumor, as a sub for the late Faces bassist, Ronnie Lane. Faces bassist – say it out loud.

The rumors started as not rumors. It was Wood himself who reportedly told RS the Faces were rehearsing.

“It was like no time has passed by,” Wood said, adding that touring plans were getting mapped out. “We just have to sort out when and where and drop all of the management egos and just do what we can. We know we can do it. It’s just a matter of getting everyone’s availability sometime next year.”

Meanwhile, Stewart keeps adding tour dates for ’09. Maybe Wood and other members could tour as the Little Faces.
