Leftover Salmon Keyboardist Arrested
Police say William McKay, 39, was arrested Jan. 20 for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after a New Year’s Eve party, according to the Denver Post. McKay, of Denver, is also accused of drugging the woman before the assault. He was held in the Eagle County Detention Center without bail, according to the Post.
His band, the Bill McKay Band, reportedly played at Rick & Kelly’s American Bistro in Edwards the night in question. Leftover Salmon is just one of many Colorado bands to employ McKay in the past two decades, the Post said.
“William McKay was not performing with Leftover Salmon or any of its band members when this incident occurred,” Leftover Salmon manager John Joy told Pollstar. “We do not know the facts and are unable to comment at this time.”
