Daniel Sullivan, 47, is accused of running on stage at the Toronto festival and tackling Gallagher from behind. Gallagher said he suffered three broken and dislodged ribs when he fell backward onto a stack of speakers.
Sullivan’s pretrial hearing is scheduled for March 6. The maximum penalty for aggravated assault is 14 years in prison, compared with a five-year sentence for assault.
