Kickstarting Maui

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center is in for a projected $12.8 million improvement project kick-started by the release of $500,000 in state funds by Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle.

The money is expected to attract matching gifts that will go toward constructing a pavilion with a glass and steel pyramid roof and an amphitheatre stage, according to the Honolulu Advertiser.

Other goodies include upgraded food & bev service and more space for parking, maintenance and storage.
