Janet Shelves Japan

Janet Jackson isn’t going to Japan any time soon. Unlike her recent cancellations, these are blamed on the global financial crisis.

Jackson canceled seven dates on her North American tour, citing vertigo.

She was expected to visit Japan in February, performing in several major cities including Nagoya and Osaka. However, Japanese concert promoter Kyodo Yokohama said five concerts were canceled because of of the economy, according to the BBC.

The gigs are expected to be rescheduled later this year, with new dates expected to be announced in March, the BBC said.
