Cramps Singer Dies

Erick Purkhiser, better known as Lux Interior, the lead singer for The Cramps, died of an existing heart condition at Glendale Memorial Hospital in California Feb. 4, according to a statement.

Purkhiser, 60, led one of the most influential punk bands of the ’80s, ushering in the sounds of psychobilly.

Purkhiser and his wife, Kristy Wallace, better known as Poison Ivy, ran the band for about 30 years.
