Simon & Garfunkel Plot Tour

The big moment when Art Garfunkel joined Paul Simon onstage at the Beacon Theatre in NYC may not be their only appearance together, according to Garfunkel.

The singer has told BBC News the duo are planning to tour for the first time since 2005.

“Our plan to work together coming together but it doesn’t go through England this time,” he said. The Garfunkel appearance at the Beacon, where the duo sang “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Old Friends,” apparently garnered such a terrific response that Garfunkel called it “extraordinary.”

Garfunkel would not confirm that the tour would be in the U.S., according to the BBC.

Simon & Garfunkel’s last tour came on the heels of a Grammy performance where they received a lifetime achievement award. The pair split up in 1970, reunited in 1981 for their Central Park show, and reunited again for some New York gigs in 1993.

The 2003 U.S. tour covered North America and the U.K. with prices made for such a momentous reunion.
