Life hasn’t been easy for Hudson lately. On October 24 the singer’s 57-year-old mother, Darnell Donerson, and Hudson’s 29-year-old brother, Jason, were shot to death in their Chicago home.

The bullet-ridden body of Hudson’s nephew, 7-year-old Julian King, was found in a vehicle abandoned on a street in Chicago’s west side.

William Balfour, who was on parole after spending nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, was arrested for the Hudson slayings. He has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. As you can guess, bail for Balfour was denied.

Hudson’s first public appearance after the murders was performing the “Star Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl.
