New Site For Mid-South

The Mid-South Fair, traditionally held in Memphis, Tenn., will this year be held at the DeSoto Civic Center in nearby Southaven, Miss., Sept. 25 through Oct. 4.

Fair officials announced Feb. 12 that plans to move to a permanent, 150-acre site in Tunica have been postponed because the site won’t be ready until 2010, according to the Memphis Business Journal.

The initial phase of the Tunica development, estmated to cost $31 million, will include a 65,000-square-foot exhibit hall and amphitheatre, the paper said.
