Fortune’s Foul
Fortune told “Entertainment Tonight Canada” the other members of INXS fired him with a handshake at an airport in Hong Kong and then proceeded to sing a sad tale for ET’s viewers about being forced to live in his car.
Remember how we said that judging by the singer’s behavior on the reality show “Rock Star: INXS” he seemed like kind of a jerk? Well it looks like he just proved it and really cost himself a job in the process.
Apparently the dismissal and Fortune’s living situation were news to the band, who were silent at the time, but have since issued a statement saying, “Not only are we shocked by the claims, even the place the supposed incident was to have taken place is a mystery.”
Then there’s this little tidbit the BBC got from INXS’ “creative director and global strategist,” CM Murphy, that’s probably making Fortune wish he could sink into the ground right about now:
“The band have always stated to me that Fortune’s services could potentially be contracted again when INXS next tour.”
Uh oh. But wait, there’s more:
“In fact, he was next on my list to call regarding a very big recording project I am putting together for INXS at present. I guess I have no reason to call him now.”
Doh!
Guess Fortune had better hope his solo project, Death of a Motivational Speaker, is a hit. Or maybe Velvet Revolver is still looking for a singer.
