Thinking Outside The Box-Office

City councilors in Simpsonville, S.C., have delayed a vote to decide whether the town should use state grant money to build a box office for the Heritage Park Amphitheatre, which opened last May.

Currently, Ticketmaster simply sets up its equipment under a tent day-of-show, according to the local Tribune-Times, a practice that Heritage GM Cindy Ogletree called “nerve-wracking.”

While a box office would undoubtedly enhance the venue’s credibility, Simpsonville officials questioned whether the state will be able to cough up the $57,000 it promised the town in light of budget cuts, the paper said.
