Killers Countersue Manager

The Killers filed a countersuit Feb. 20 claiming breach of contract against former manager Braden Merrick.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, is part of a three-year case where both parties are suing for millions of dollars each.

The band accuses Merrick of “double-dealing” in representing the band after it hit the big time in 2004 with its multiplatinum album Hot Fuss.

The lawsuit claims Merrick was secretly paid by Island Def Jam Records while managing the group.

Merrick’s legal team filed a $16 million breach-of-contract lawsuit in February 2006, claiming Brandon Flowers, Ronnie Vannucci Jr., Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer fired him illegally.
