Winehouse, only 25 years old and already having experienced more of life’s trials, problems and demons than most people three times her age, voluntarily appeared at a London police station on March 5. She was questioned, charged with common assault and released. She’s scheduled to appear in court on March 17.

The alleged eye assault took place Sept. 26 at the End of Summer Ball in central London.

Dancer Sheren Flash told the London press she approached Winehouse and asked to take her picture but was rewarded with a poke in the eye instead.

A multi-Grammy winner for her 2006 album Back To Black, Winehouse has been plagued by troubles during the past few years, including drug abuse, divorce proceedings filed by her worthless sack-of-skin husband and unflattering photography.
