Eminem Producers Lose Suit

A Detroit production company that signed Eminem to its record label early in the rapper’s career has lost a lawsuit against Universal Music Group seeking a greater share of digital download revenues.

In its suit, F.B.T. Productions asked UMG to share 50 percent of revenues from services such as iTunes, which the company reportedly planned to split with Eminem.

With the ruling, Universal will continue to pay F.B.T. and Eminem a royalty rate of 12 percent of sales.
