Ralph Mercado Dies

Latin music impresario Ralph Mercado died March 10 at New Jersey’s Hackensack University Medical Center following a two-year battle with cancer. He was 57.

Throughout his career, Mercado promoted salsa and R&B shows, founded management firm RMM Management and subsequently, RMM Records, and operated nightclubs in New York.

Mercado’s client list counted artists including Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto, Ricky Martin, Domingo Quiñones, Tony Vega and Tito Nieves, among others.
