Gervais recently visited the set of “Sesame Street” to film a guest spot for the 40th anniversary episode of the show.

Things got a little out of control, especially after the comedian dissed the little red guy’s PJs, which led him to retort, “It’s called acting, Mr. Gervais. Acting!”

Needless to say, the segment quickly descended into chaos (“These are the no-go areas: drugs, child abuse, the Holocaust”) with hilarious results.

Obviously, the full bit won’t make the final cut. Thank goodness someone posted it on YouTube.

Perhaps Elmo has a future in the cast of “Avenue Q?”
