Phish For A Lifetime

Fans who worried that five years apart might have an adverse effect on Trey Anastasio and company quickly learned they had nothing to be concerned about when the band took the stage at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia March 6 for the first date of its reunion tour.

Published reviews from all quarters were glowing, with AP entertainment writer Josh Dickey commenting, “Their missteps were few, the jamming was spirited and the mood on stage mostly playful and loose – a far cry from the emotional and musical shambles of their ‘farewell’ show some five years prior.”

The reunion show also drew attention for some drug busts. One media outlet reported nearly 200 law enforcement officers working the event seized $1.2 million in drugs, confiscated $68,000 and arrested 194 fans. Amusing mug shots of some of the wild-eyed perps appeared at SmokingGun.com.
