Sharing Station Settlement

Survivors and relatives of the 100 people killed in The Station nightclub fire of 2003 are moving closer to sharing a $176 million court settlement.

A federal magistrate judge in Providence, R.I., recently approved a proposal for distributing the money among the more than 300 people who sued over the fire.

The payments will range from approximately $20,000 to several million dollars, according to attorneys.

The fire began when pyrotechnics were launched inside the small club during a Great White concert.
