AJ’s Music Café in Detroit is doing its part for the U.S. auto industry by hosting a 10-day, nonstop, 240-hour concert.

“The Assembly Line Concert” is expected to run through March 30 and is attempting to break the Guinness record for “longest concert by multiple artists,” according to the Detroit News.

Martha Reeves, a Detroit City Council member, kicked things off with “The Star-Spangled Banner” March 20.

One day was expected to be filled with political leaders performing music, another by autoworkers and another by local bands.

Café owner A.J. O’Neil has invited Detroit natives Bob Seger, Kid Rock and Eminem to make surprise appearances.

One goal is to have patrons sign a pledge to make their next car purchase an American product.
