Spector Trial Near End

The defense in Phil Spector’s murder retrial has attacked the testimony of five women who claimed Spector confronted them with guns years before the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.
Attorney Doron Weinberg said in closing arguments Wednesday that most of the women told their stories for big paychecks from tabloids and became “locked in” to the accounts even though they were not true.

Weinberg argued to the Los Angeles jury that those stories were the heart of the prosecution case and they were lies.

Clarkson, star of the 1985 cult film “Barbarian Queen,” died from a bullet fired in her mouth in Spector’s home. The defense contends it was self-inflicted.

After the defense concludes, the prosecution will present a rebuttal argument.
