Ozzy’s better half lashed out at those claiming her family’s history of alcohol and drug addiction made them unsuitable to host a variety show, according to Reuters.

The Osbournes’ substance abuse problems have been tabloid fodder ever since “The Osbournes” reality-TV show debuted on MTV in 2002. Son Jack would later struggle with alcohol while daughter Kelly would complete two tours of rehab for a prescription drug treatment.

Then there’s husband Ozzy, but we don’t have the time to go into his legendary hell-raising.

Sharon Osbourne was participating in a telephone conference call when someone asked if her family’s past was too controversial for upcoming “Osbournes Reloaded” program scheduled to debut on Fox on March 31.

Sharon responded by saying that was the “most ridiculous question I have ever been asked in my entire career.”

“I am really angry. Do you know how many people in this country alone suffer from addiction?

“All my family are examples of being truthful about their condition and working through it and trying to better themselves.

“We are a real family and we don’t pretend to be something we are not. I have taken real offense … probably half the people watching our show have someone in their family who has a problem with drugs and alcohol.”

Sharon described her son Jack, who has been sober for six years as a “beacon of hope to every young person in this country who is struggling with addiction.”

Reuters describes the new “Osbournes Reloaded” TV show as featuring “candid-camera style skits, occasional pie-throwing and a pair of ‘mini-Osbournes’ played by British child actors who dress and behave as outrageously as Ozzy and Sharon themselves.”

But too controversial for TV? America’s favorite dysfunctional family? No way!

Or as Sharon said:

“We live in the real world and this world is tough.”
