Man Naming Springsteen In Divorce Accused Of Sensationalism
Arthur Kelly named Springsteen as the “other man” in divorce papers filed in March, claiming the rocker had trysts with his wife, Ann Kelly, at “various times and places too numerous to mention.”
Now Ann Kelly’s father is saying the allegations “are just not true.”
“My son-in-law and his attorney are just seeking sensationalism,” said Stephen Carton of Ocean, N.J., according to the New York Daily News, adding, “My daughter is guilty only of working out in the same gym as Bruce Springsteen and talking to him.”
Carton also said his daughter had filed a domestic abuse case against her husband.
News of the divorce filing naming Springsteen surfaced this earlier week. In response to the allegations, a Springsteen spokesperson referred to a statement the performer made in 2006 when tabloids reported him linking up with a 9/11 widow. In that statement from three years back, Springsteen called the rumors “unfounded” and said his marriage to E Street Band member Patti Scialfa “remains as strong as the day we were married.”
