‘Mad Man Marko’ Dies

Mark Hildonen, 53, a New England concert promoter known as “Mad Man Marko,” reportedly died unexpectedly in his sleep in New Hampshire April 3.

Hildonen, who got his nickname from his “wheel standing” reputation as a national drag-racing champion, got into concert promotion at a young age, managing bands and producing nationwide tours.

Hildonen passed away in the trailer he used to carry his Chevrolet Monza wheel stander, according to the Gloucester Daily Times.

Hildonen’s many concert promotions included shows for Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash and Ringo Starr.
