Abdul was interviewed by “Nightline” co-anchor Cynthia McFadden about her career, her rumored addictions and working with the other judges on “American Idol.”

On Cowell:

“He’s a bully. He’s a masterful bully.”

“The first day I went to work on season one I quit seven times. Seven times.”

“I couldn’t believe someone was actually getting away with crushing fragile kids.”

Um, Paula, he’s not only getting away with it, he’s getting paid handsomely for it. Have you not been paying attention?

On the addition of fourth judge, Kara DioGuardi:

“I found out on the way to the airport.”

“…I was surprised because Simon has always been against the fourth. We’ve had guest judges come on before, and he banned that from happening any more.”

“I think that Simon got mad that we are friends and that I actually knew her and that her humble beginning began sleeping in my guest bedroom and I just believed in her.”

I wonder if Paula has ever seen a little movie called “All About Eve”?
