Rihanna Wants Her Bling Back

Rihanna is asking the Los Angeles police and prosecutors to kindly return $1.4 million in jewelry she was wearing the night of Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy Feb. 7 party – and the early morning she was allegedly attacked by fellow singer and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

An attorney for Rihanna filed a motion last week requesting a pair of earrings and three rings be returned to the singer. The jewelry was seized as evidence in the case.

E! reported that the $11,000 strapless Gucci dress Rihanna wore to the party was also turned over to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office as evidence because it had bloodstains on it.

According to court documents, an argument between the couple began when they were driving home from the Grammy party. Brown is accused of punching Rihanna, biting her, putting her in a headlock and threatening to kill her, according to detective’s notes from the scene of the assault.

The filing says the jewelry, which is made of “yellow metal” and all but one includes “white stones,” was loaned to Rihanna by four companies who need the items back for events overseas.

The motion says that if the case goes to trial, photographs of the items will work just as well. It asks the court to “to order the return of the property to [Rihanna] without further delay.”

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said the agency had no comment on the motion.

Brown was arrested Feb. 8. He then pled not guilty earlier this month to two felony charges of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and making criminal threats.

The case is going back to court Wednesday and a judge will then consider whether the jewelry can be returned. If Brown is convicted of the felony charges, his sentence could range from probation to four years and eight months in state prison.
