Abdul recently admitted that she fell victim to one of Sacha Baron Cohen’s stunts for his upcoming movie based on his super-gay Austrian character Bruno.

The “American Idol” judge got a call telling her she had been named Artist of the Year in Germany and agreed to an interview for the award through her publicist.

That’s when things got really weird.

“I’m greeted by this futuristic Captain Nemo-looking dude with a mohawk – and he’s flaming,” Abdul explained.

“So I walk in and there was no furniture except for a chair. And I’m waiting and waiting.

“And this guy Bruno introduces himself, and I said, ‘Hi.’ And he said, ‘Here, have some food.’ And the food is horrible! And I said, ‘No, I’m fine.’ And he said, ‘It’s very, very, very good.’ I said, ‘That’s okay, I don’t want to have it.’”

Cohen then apologized for not having furniture in the room, called in two Mexican “gardeners,” handed them some cash, had them drop down on all fours and forced Abdul to sit on them.

The horrified Abdul was doing her best to get the attention of her publicist to help extract her from the awkward situation, when the comedian informed her she would have to change clothes.

“I said, ‘No, I won’t be doing that. I have to go to work – and by the way, where’s my award?’”

As Abdul fled the interview, Cohen pursued her with cameras and even jumped in front of her car.

She explained she only realized she had been punked after a reporter called her a year after the incident to ask her about her run in with Cohen, which she denied – until she recalled the bizarre interview.

“At 2 o’clock in the morning that night, I woke up in a cold sweat. I popped my body up out of bed and I went, ‘Holy crap! Oh my God!’”

Any one else really, really hoping the scene ends up in the movie?

Here’s the trailer, which is completely freakin’ hilarious but probably NSFW.
