Gans was found dead at his home in Henderson, Nev., by his wife Julie.

Billed as “The Man of Many Voices,” Gans just didn’t just use his talents to mimic actors or other celebs, but also used his flexible vocal cords to imitate singers. Like many performers, Gans would channel Elvis when singing “Viva Las Vegas,” but he also imitated Smokey Robinson when covering “Tears of a Clown,” Joe Cocker for “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window,” and Boz Scaggs when singing “Lido Shuffle.”

Gans performed at The Mirage for more than eight years before switching to the Encore Theater at the Wynn in February. Today, the marquee over the Encore reads, “Our friend forever, Danny Gans. 1956-2009.  Rest In Peace.”

Said Steve Wynn, chief exec of Wynn Resorts:

“The loss of Danny to his wife Julie, his children, Amy, Andrew and Emily is at this moment impossible to comprehend.”

Gans’ manager, Chip Lightman, released a statement saying Gans was a man who loved “his family, God and the city of Las Vegas.”

“Danny has been my partner and deer friend for over 18 years,” Lightman said. “I will truly miss him.”
