Century Plaza Reprieve?

Los Angeles’ iconic Century Plaza Hotel – home to many editions of the Concert Industry Consortium – may have reportedly dodged the wrecking ball by making the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s 2009 list of “America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.”

Developer Michael Rosenfeld wants to replace the hotel with hotel/condo towers, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“All over Los Angeles, too many of our great modern buildings have already fallen to the wrecking ball,” actress Diane Keaton, a trustee of the organization, said in a statement. “We need to lead by example and show the rest of the country that buildings are renewable, and we shouldn’t be throwing them away.”
